I build automation that delivers value across the entire software delivery cycle from test environments through staging to production and from the user interface to APIs and integrations. Using frameworks powered by Cypress and tools like Postman, I help teams catch issues earlier and release faster. By integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, automation becomes part of the delivery flow reducing manual effort while boosting quality and confidence.
Cypress.io is a modern JavaScript-based end-to-end testing framework built for the web. It enables developers and QA engineers to write fast, reliable tests for anything that runs in a browser. I have designed and implemented Cypress automation frameworks using Cucumber and TypeScript, later integrating them with GitHub Actions to run seamlessly in CI/CD pipelines. The framework supported multiple environments (development, staging, production) and provided regression coverage for UAT and production releases. Alongside automation, I also managed manual testing, accreditations, and BAU responsibilities, ensuring overall quality and delivery.
I am a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SDCI+ (Standard Data Capture Interface Plus), the batch file interface used by Ticket Issuing Systems (TIS) to generate settlement files for Lennon, the rail industry’s central financial settlement system. SDCI+ ensures that all sales, refunds, exchanges, and sundry transactions are captured in a consistent format so they can be correctly settled between Train Operating Companies (TOCs). In my role, I ensure that every SDCI+ output accurately reflects the customer’s transaction, providing confidence in both financial integrity and compliance across the industry.
I’ve been with OnTrack Retail for almost six years. When I joined, there were just two of us testing, now the company has grown massively. Over that time I’ve looked after everything from website automation to hands-on testing across our apps and sites.
These days I focus on writing and running test scripts in XRay, keeping stakeholders updated with clear comms and making sure every bug is properly reported in Jira with all the detail a developer needs, requirements, acceptance criteria, API calls, responses and analysis from dev tools, Postman or Charles Proxy. I also step in to review automation PRs when required and validate SDCI+, making sure the process reflects the customer’s journey end-to-end.
